All donations made through the Omaze platform go to Omaze’s 501(c)(3) tax-exempt public charity client associated with the applicable experience (each a “Charity Client”). Currently, Omaze has two Charity Clients: Global Impact and Our Change Foundation. Each Charity Client has partnered with Omaze to make giving internationally and domestically safe, easy and effective for U.S. donors by raising charitable donations from members of the public to fund monetary grants to other charitable organizations.
In accordance with the terms of the sweepstakes you entered, so long as the designated grantee(s) specified in the sweepstakes remains eligible to receive grants from the applicable Charity Client, the Charity Client will provide charitable grants to the designated grantee(s). The Charity Client associated with the experience and the designated grantee(s) for each experience is listed on the individual experience pages! For more information, please see the Experience Rules and the “Fundraising Transparency” section at the bottom of each experience page.
Anyone who donates to a Charity Client through the Omaze platform receives chances to win prizes, however, no donation is required to enter to win an experience, and a donation does not increase your chances of winning a sweepstakes experience. All donations made by U.S. donors through the Omaze platform are tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law. If your donation is accompanied by an experience perk, the amount of your donation that is deductible for U.S. federal income tax purposes may be limited to the excess of the amount contributed over the value of goods or services provided. If you have any questions regarding your tax obligations, you should consult with your own tax advisor.
For US donors:
- For any donations made on or after October 29th, 2020, your confirmation email can act as your tax receipt. Please keep this confirmation for your own personal records. If you need it to be resent, you can contact our Customer Experience team at weloveyou@omaze.com.
- For any donations made between May 13th, 2019 - October 29th, 2020, our Customer Experience team would be more than happy to resend you an updated version of your order confirmation email that can act as your tax receipt. You can contact them at weloveyou@omaze.com.
- If you’ve made any donations made prior to May 13th, 2019 for which you would like us to send you a formal donation tax receipt, please contact our Customer Experience team at weloveyou@omaze.com.
For international donors, we're unable to provide any tax documentation or receipts other than what is provided to U.S. donors. You may request tax receipts based on the above timelines but they will be made to U.S. standards. As always, we recommend you speak with a tax professional before deducting any donations made through Omaze to an applicable Charity Client on your taxes. While we're always more than happy to assist you, we cannot advise any donor (whether domestic or international) on applying their donations to their taxes.
